Common mistakes
Lifting through the shoulders
Do not move your upper arms forward as the dumbbells rise; create the curl range through elbow flexion.
Thrusting the hips
Do not launch the loads from the bottom with your pelvis; keep your torso stable.
Curling the wrists
Do not finish the top by bending your hands toward your palms; keep the handles aligned with your forearms.
Short bottom range
Do not leave your arms progressively more bent each repetition; return to comfortable, controlled extension.
Asymmetric repetitions
Do not raise or lower one dumbbell before the other; maintain simultaneous curl rhythm.
Hitting at the top
Do not stop the weights by striking your shoulders; decelerate with control at the end of the contraction.
