Exercise technique
- Pulley
Set the single handle at elbow height.
- Stance
Stand sideways with your working arm farther from the tower.
- Arm alignment
Keep your elbow close to your torso and bent to 90 degrees.
- Start
Bring your forearm in front of your torso and establish light cable tension.
- Rotate
Keep your upper arm still and rotate your hand outward.
- Control
Keep your pelvis and chest fixed relative to the cable line.
- Return
Bring the handle inward slowly and repeat without clashing the plates.
Key technique points
- Keep the cable at elbow height.
- Use a light load and a controlled range.
- Grip the handle in line with your wrist.
- Do not move your elbow forward and backward.
- Rotate within your shoulder’s pain-free range.
- Check pulley height when changing sides.
Common mistakes
Increasing the load too far
Do not choose resistance that forces you to finish this small rotation by swinging your torso.
Pulling the elbow backward
Do not perform a rowing action instead of rotating your forearm.
Setting the cable too low
Do not change the pull from elbow height to an upward pull from below.
Bending the wrist
Do not increase handle travel through wrist extension.
Rotating the hips
Do not turn your whole body away from the pulley during outward rotation.
Clashing the plates on return
Do not release the inward phase without braking it.
